We can Import Backlogs in bulk in DevOps using excel file

DevOps > Boards > Work Items > Import Work Items

Select Choose file > Import

• if you feel any error like ‘The identity value ‘devopsmela..’ 
  • Remove Assigned user name from textbox below
• if getting error The field 'State' contains the value 'Active' that is not in the list of supported values.
  • make state as new instead of Active in drop down
• Once all error removed, save it

• DevOps > Boards > Work Items 
• you can see all imported Work items/ backlogs

 

 

Kanban Board after upload

• If you can come to the board section, you'll get a glimpse of a Kanban board.
• A pre-configured Kanban board will result.
• Kanban boards let you move work items left to right (Drag n Drop) As soon as you start working on it, you can shift it from new to active to resolved and then close.
• This board gives a very clear picture of how the work has evolved, how the work is progressing in real time.
• User stories can be visualised. Choose from the dropdown. Change it to feature. This board usually hosts user stories.

 

 

Customize your Kanban Board
use this option to customize your Kanban board.

• You can have different styles.
• You can have tag color
• swim lanes
  • swim lanes will help you visualize different classes of work as horizontal lanes.
  • It will help you create a different lane. For example I'll create it for testing.I have created a different lane for testing.
  • 

 

• This add a new column testing in your kanban board

• This allows you to customize your Kanban according to your use.
